My FBX is ASCII. What should I do ?

What is ASCII ?

ASCII is a Non Binary file type of FBX format. It contain plain text language information which is more friendly to read for humans but not very useful in general use. FBX format is divided into 2 versions:

  1. Non Binary - ASCII

  2. Binary - Standard and most popular version which works with almost every 3D software


What should I do ?

In order to be able to upload your 3D model into Twinzo app, you need to convert your existing ASCII FBX to Binary version. You can do it via AUTODESK FBX Converter, which you can download from official website: FBX SDK

  1. Once your converter is installed. Open it and you will be greeted with this window

     

  2. You simple click on Add… button on the left side and locate file which you want to convert

     

  3. Than you can change where you converted file will be exported by clicking on Change destination folder…

     

  4. After this make sure that Destination format is set to FBX 2013 and FBX Save Mode is set to Binary

     

  5. If everything is set up, click on Convert button and wait for your file to be converted

  6. When file is converted you will see green text (Converted) under Result section which indicates that file was converted successfully

     

  7. That's all. Now you can locate your converted file and try again to upload it
