How to embedd Textures into single file

In this tutorial, you will learn what embedded textures means and how to do it

Little bit of background

What is embedded Textures ?

Embedded Textures means that your Textures image files are included directly inside single file like FBX or glTF and images are not stored in separated folder or along side main file.

What is Texture ?

Textures are 2D images that are wrapped around 3D models to give them detail. They can make a model look like it's made of wood, metal, fabric, or anything else you can think of. Typical texture image can be in various formats like: PNG, JPG, TGA and can look like this:

There are also various texture types like Diffuse, Normal map, Roughness, Displacement and others. But for the purpose of this tutorial its not important to know about them.

What difference is between Color and Texture ?

Color can be described in way that is all about the hue (like red, blue, green), brightness (how light or dark it is), and saturation (how vibrant or muted it is). Texture, on the other hand is about how a surface feels visually. It adds detail to an object's surface, making it look rough, smooth, bumpy, or any other characteristic.

Unlike Textures, Colors do not need to be embedded directly into file. So if your 3D model contain only Colors without any Texture images, you will see them inside Twinzo app

Which file format can contain embedded textures ?

Most popular are FBX, glTF 2.0
