Make the sensor visible in the Digital Twin app
[ 🏠 Back to Lifecycle Overview ]
To display a sensor in the Digital Twin app, you must link it to a physical location. This ensures that data is always contextually paired with a specific machine, workstation, or zone.
Visualizing Data: Layers and Areas
To make your data visible in the Digital Twin, you must link each sensor to a physical location using Layers and Areas. This hierarchy ensures that every data point is paired with its real-world counterpart, such as a specific machine or zone.
Create a Layer (The Toggle) - A Layer acts as a category button in the app. By toggling a layer on or off (e.g., "HVAC" or "Production Line 1"), you can instantly show or hide all information within that group to keep your view clean and focused.
Define an Area (The Zone) - An Area is a highlighted zone within a layer that represents a specific physical spot, like "Press Machine A." Each area acts as a container that can hold one or multiple sensors and their live values.
Pair the Sensor - By assigning a sensor to an Area, the real-time data is locked to its physical location. This provides immediate spatial context, allowing users to see exactly where an issue is occurring within the 3D environment.

The sensor is now assigned to the Office area. To view it, enable the Sensors layer within the app; the Office area will remain hidden until this layer is active. Once enabled, simply tap the Office area to view specific sensor details.
