TCS (Truck Calling System) is a system used for trucks/vehicles entering the plant. It is an extension of AOS (Automatic Ordering System).

This system consists of a “Calendar Scheduler” in the TCS tab, devices for truck drivers with the tConnect app, and devices for forklifts with the tConnect app installed. The app has different configurations (or different display screens) for truck drivers and forklifts.

How does the system work?

There is a simple example, of how the system works.

The operator inserts the transport schedule into the Transports calendar (tAnalytics -> TCS -> Transports). When the truck driver arrives, he will go register himself at the gatehouse. The truck driver will get the device with the tConnect app installed. Now he can wait inside the truck and let the system do its magic.

The system will create a task in the AOS for the forklift drivers. When the forklift driver accepts this task, the truck driver will be notified, that he can enter the plant with the corresponding gate number displayed in the app on his phone. After he arrives at the gate, he will wait in the truck, while the forklift load/unload the truck. After finishing loading/unloading the truck, the driver gets the confirmation, that the process is finished and he can go back to the main gatehouse, return the phone and go on another journey.

The supervisor can be notified if the truck driver goes into the not allowed zones while staying in the plant land.

For the proper operation of TCS, it is necessary to set up the TCS part in the AOS system. The picture above describes a simple node setup for running TCS. These two nodes communicate together according to an arrow orientation. In the case above, the left node sends orders to the right node (the gatekeeper is sending orders to the forklift operator).
